“Up and at 'em,” Jet taunted. Sidling past Nell's shins, and just barely squeezing out his front door, the Hunter stepped out into the humid air and drew deeply of the salt-stained breeze. As the ubiquitous palm fronds rustled overhead-
CRKKKKKKKK
Sharp cracks, akin to the blast of a Heavy Bowgun, pierced the air. Roof propped atop her head, and leaning back against a dangerously distended wall, the Nargacuga all but overflowed the boxy enclosure that had been her human's home. Squinting, the Wyvern grunted while she struggled to adjust to the sudden surge of sunlight.
“...Suffering Sapphire,” Jet wordlessly whispered to himself. Cheeks straining, and a prominent blush streaked across his cheeks, he couldn't help but smile. Never would he ever have dare dreamed his life would have turned out like this when he first started studying under Nell. That his life and her own would become so hopelessly intertwined.
CRNNNNNNNNCH
Soles pressed against the opposite wall, and her clawed toes idly twiddling, the Nargacuga clasped her hands against the bundled branches comprising the thatched roof. Ears folded flat, and a shameless smile spread wide across her beak, she wielded it like a sun visor. Eyes twinkling with reverent wonder and awe she curiously looked out over the whole of Astera. Her tongue blepped at the sight of the fishing boats bobbing in the harbor. Her tail wigged and wagged at the countless nests carved into the fern and frond choked hillside. Her beak hung agape at the curious wooden wheels tucked beneath the waterfalls that roared down into the ocean.
“...I could get used to this,” she happily growled.
“I thought you already were!” snorted the Hunter.
“No! I mean!” Nell chirped when she, as carefully a woman of her size could manage, rose to a stand.
Jet forced a smile, and swallowed down a pained sigh, at the cacophonous crunches that accompanied the action.
“Waking up to this! To the hustle and bustle of the human hive...” Nell gasped. Daintily stepping over the wobbling walls, barbed tail undulating behind her, the Nargacuga looked back with a satisfied purr when the propped up roof slammed back down atop the structure.
Gasp! Even more adorable arts of Nell the Nargacuga from my silly Monster Hugger series. Jet simply doesn't have the heart to argue with his lovely and loomy lady that she cannot and will not fit inside his home.
Blurb from the next chapter I am slowly poking away at in between more Tera.
Amazing arts are by none other than
Jazzumi!

Slowly but surely I will see the story through! It's my own fault really for building out the world and digging into side stories to flesh it out rather than focusing first and foremost on Nell and Jet.
I am very glad you still enjoy seeing and reading about the rascal Nargacuga!
