I remember the subsequent visits... but most importantly how we finally made up when he was at his lowest point before that past version of dad was about to make his version of me. That... reconciliation wasn't something my version of my dad had. He only had remorse for what he told that other version of me..."

"So I decided to scare them both straight. Give that later version of me a head start. I planned, and refined what face I would show, then I jumped. My dad protested to my schemes that what I was about to incite wouldn't be genuine... But he knew how stubborn I could be. He told me that if i pursue the harsh hand now, that I follow up with something gentler in time. That I ensure they made up to each other not by threat, but because of something more genuine."
