Phase One of Operation Negotiation is convincing Cross and Multi tocome with us. They are actually father and son, so if we convince one, the one can convince the other.
I went outside the den to where Cross usually likes to hang out under a tree. “Hey Cross!” I said as I approached him. “Hey Multomni!” He said back.
“Do you want to go to the Darkscar’s den with Father and I?” I asked Cross.
“Well, that depends. Is Dad coming too?” He answered. “My father is asking your father the same question right now.” I said. “OK, well, I’ll go with you then.” He responded.
We then went to the den where Multi and Father were talking. “Okay, we’re ready to go now, Son!” Father said. The four of us left the den and headed towards the South, where the Darkscar’s den is.
Now for Phase Two. We have made it to the DS den now. “It sure is quiet here. It seems a lot less populated than before. Of course, I know thereason why.” Father said.
“And it’s so cold, too...” Multi said. “I’ve heard of a place where Winters are longer than three month and even more brutal. What was it called again? Soteminne? Minnesota? I forgot.”
“Well, I guess we’re kinda lucky we don’t live there... I’ve heard of places where Summers last longer.” Cross said. I guess I forgot to mention that Cross loves Winter and absolutely HATES Summer. Spring and Fall are in between for him.
We made to the very heart of the DS den, but no one was there. Fog then came into the room, and sat on the throne. “Father isn’t here. He is outhunting.” He said. “Is Luna here?” Father asked. “As always, I never know. She may be here, she may not...” Fog responded mysteriously.
Luna then came into the room. “Hey! Get off that throne, you know that is for Alphas and Alphas only!” She said sternly to Fog. “Yes, Mother.” Fog said. He got off the throne and Luna jumped right in and made herself comfortable.
“Bog! Log! Come in here!” She shouted. A large, strong looking wolf came into the room. Is this the fabled Bog? I froze looking at him. This guy... he could easily beat Rose in a fight! And that says something.
Multi got close to Cross and whispered something into his ear. He then turned to me to me. “FYI, Bog is a female. Never, EVER refer to herwith a masculine term. She doesn’t take too kindly to that...” He whispered into my ear.
Pretend every “he” I said when referring to Bog was a “she.”
Nobody else came into the room. “Huh, I guess Log went hunting WITH Lunar...” Luna said. “Anyway, the Lightbringers want to negotiatiate with us.” Luna said.
“So, what do you want with us, Lightbringers?” Luna said, looking at Father. “As you may know, the Ashembers have tried multiple times to end me and the Lightjumpers. But this time, the Ashembers were surprisingly organized, with hundreds of Cats, Hedgehogs, and Foxes.” Father said.
“Do you mind if we enlist your help? I fear the Ashembers will get even more organized and come back with even more soldiers...” Father said. “Is there any reward of some sort for us?” Luna said. “If so, what would it be?” Bog said. “I would fight alongside him, reward or not!” Fog said.
“After all, Omni’s survival is reward enough! I still want to win against him at SOMETHING...” Fog said. “If Omni can beat me, he can handle him self against an army of rebels. Heck, he slayed Nature’s Demon! I will only help him if he is 100% sure he can’t handle them. Even then, I need a reward, like the Stone...” Bog said.
“While I agree with Bog, I think the least we can do is defend the little ones. After all, we do still owe you...” Luna said. “That is a good point. Omni made a truce with you guys after defeating Anubis V, and you still owe him.” Multi said.
Bog lost her temper. “GUYS!? WHO ARE YOU CALLING A GUY? I’M NO GUY, I’M A WOMAN!” Bog said in pure rage. “Calm down, Daughter. Theseare visitors. Though, I am also not a “guy.” Do not refer to me or her as such.” Luna said.
“Anyway, I vote we help the Lightbringers. What about you, Fog?” Luna said, raising a paw. “I vote we help them too.” Fog said, also holding up a paw. “...Fine. I’ll help too.” Bog said, reluctantly holding up her hand, barely holding in her temper.
“Then it is decided. We will help the Lightbringers in their fight against the Ashembers.” Luna said. “Lead the way, Omni!”
Funny that Luna, who was meant to be a secondary antagonist in the first book, is only mentioned once then and makes her debut in the sequel after she's already redeemed.
