The male dragons don’t always; sometimes they prefer to file them down, especially when wanting to blend in with a surrounding conservative culture that holds things like tanktops and shorts to be less dignified/respectable. Robin would not care about her surrounding culture’s fashion tastes over comfort, especially not by the time her spikes grew in.
