I actually started on this drawing back in the summer of 2024, and within weeks of me starting on it, all I had to make was the background. Due to uncertainty of how to make the background, I left it unfinished for a year and a half. Yet, as Sonic Spirit Week was last week, I decided to finally finish the drawing's background up for Fanart Friday (February 6th) and show it off at Facebook and Instagram. Today, on Valentine's Day, I show it here at FurAffinity.

This is based off of the high score screen on the 1989 arcade game Turbo Outrun, a game in the OutRun series, another beloved series from SEGA. Now I know Sonic's grin is shaped irregularly, but I wanted to emulate the original scene as much as possible. Plus, I like to experiment with stuff. As for Amy, surprise, surprise, she's wearing the red dress she wore in the fourteenth episode of Sonic X along with her Warrior Feather from Sonic Adventure. The two have just finished a cross-country road trip from New York to Los Angeles, driving past various cities along the way such as my Sweet Home Chicago.
