This is Scorch, Cinder’s older brother, and Aaron’s uncle.
Scorch lives in Ponyville, or at least what remains of it, and spends most of his time helping out at what was once the School of Friendship, which has now been converted into an orphanage. His house once belonged to pair of musicians, and even had its own recording studio in the basement. Scorch usually comes off as laid back and tends to stick his nose in places he shouldn't, but deep down he's quite warm-hearted and loving, and tries his best to help those he cares about. Whether it's his parents and two sisters, the children at the orphanage, his nephew Aaron, or even his friends. Once you get to know Scorch, he's one of the nicest and coolest (at least he thinks so) dragons you'll ever meet. Scorch isn't afraid to put his foot down though, and can be intimidating if need be. Like his father, Scorch has developed a love of music, and has learned to play various instruments, and would help teach his nephew to play when he discovered Aaron's love for music.
Scorch is the middle child of the current Dragonlord's three kids, and the only son. Like his little sister, Cinder, Scorch was born after Equestria fell, but before the dragons went into slumber. He was mostly raised by his mother (Aaron's grandmother) around the Fillydelphia area, along with Cinder. The two heard stories of their father's adventures and his impact on both dragon and pony kind, but while Cinder went in search of House Fox, Scorch stayed and try to help preserve what was left of his Dad's legacy. This would lead Scorch to travel to what was once Ponyville, where he discovered an old acquaintance of his Dad was still running the School of Friendship. However, the school has now been converted into an orphanage, and was sadly understaffed. Scorch decided to stay help out at the orphanage with many of the children growing quite fond of his presence.
Scorch kept in contact with his family, which is why he had to go find Cinder once his mother grew concerned that she hasn't returned for months. When Scorch found Cinder in Flameborough, however, he was shocked to discover that she was pregnant, and that the father was a unicorn named Corvin, meaning that his future niece or nephew was going to be a dracony. While a bit infuriated at first, Cinder convinced Scorch that she was going to stay in Flameborough with Corvin to help raise her future child, and Scorch had to explain to his and Cinder's mother the current situation. While a bit mad at Corvin at first, Scorch grew quite fond of Cinder's new husband, and like his younger sister, would meet up with Lucina Fox, the head of House Fox at the time, and became close friends with her. Scorch promised he will be there for both Corvin's and Lucina's children, a promise he would keep when they were both gone.
Scorch was away on a mission the night Aaron was born, the same mission in which Lucina sacrificed herself, making him the one who had to tell a young Scarlet of his mother's fate, and would continue to be a close friend to House Fox. Of course, Scorch would also meet his newborn nephew that night, Aaron, and Scorch would try his best be a good uncle to the young dracony. Scorch would also start seeing Aaron develop a love for music, something that would become important when tragedy struck again seven years later.
When Corvin died of an illness, Scorch agreed to look after Aaron to help support his grieving nephew. Aaron stayed with Scorch, but the dracony shut himself in his room and rarely even spoke to Scorch. One day, Scorch found Aaron looking through his music collection, and watched as his nephew selected an album and began singing the lyrics. This gave Scorch an idea, he took the young dracony to the recording studio in the basement and encouraged Aaron to sing out the emotions he was holding in. It worked, with the right tune, Scorch watched his nephew let out all the feelings he had bottled up inside of him, and watched Aaron open up for the first time in two weeks. Scorch helped Aaron realize that music can express how he feels in a way he couldn't have before and sparked his dream of becoming a singer. Scorch watched his nephew's love for music grow stronger to the point where Aaron's cutie mark appeared, a dragon eye surrounded by a ring of flame, which Aaron interpreted as a sign of music being his calling. When Scorch heard this, he took down his Dad's old guitar and gave it to Aaron. The same guitar that Aaron still cherishes and plays to this day. Scorch continues to support his nephew's musical endeavors, even to Cinder's annoyance.
Following the return of magic to Equestria, Scorch finds a dragon egg which soon hatches into a small black and purple dragon. Scorch helps take care of the hatchling, but notices no signs of a flame developing. With some help from his mother and the orphanage's nurse, Scorch learns that the hatchling, now named Scales, has a rare condition making him unable to breathe fire. Scorch continues to monitor the baby dragon, and even tries teaching it sign language. Despite the head mare's wishes, Scales still sneaks off to Scorch's house, and Scorch has to call the head mare to come pick up the baby dragon.
After Aaron has bounty placed on him. Scorch agrees again to look after him, and would soon meet not only his nephew, but meet Scarlet Fox again after 16 years. Scorch and Scarlet are able to catch up, and Scorch thanks Scarlet for looking after his nephew and even keeping his guitar safe. Scorch would also end up meeting six ponies from Maretime Bay, along with another baby dragon around the same age of Scales.
After events that transpire in the remnants of Ponyville, Scorch continues to play an important role in Aaron's, Scarlet's, and even Scale's life. Scorch encourages Aaron to talk to his mother again, while encourages Cinder to come to Maritime and reconcile with Aaron. Scorch still stays in contact with Scarlet and House Fox, and is acts as a voice of reason to Scarlet. Scorch still tries teaching Scales sign language, and other ways to help him communicate with others. He also has to keep an eye on the little dragon when he sneaks off from the orphanage, and even some of the new friends Scales makes. Even when Scales is adopted, he still visits the baby dragon either as a baby sitter or special occasionals, of course when Scale's new mom allows it.
Scorch has taken up his Dad's role as a friendship ambassador between ponies and dragons he continues to help the children at the Friendship Orphanage, and acts like a source of comfort and reason for many who know him. But most importantly, Scorch is a father figure and a close friend to Aaron, Scarlet, and Scales. He may not have any children of his own, but Scorch is like a dad and uncle to many characters, whether by blood or not.
I think it's clear who Scorch and Cinder's parents are, and therefore Aaron's grandparents.
