I sat on the ground, looking at the grass as it grew on the hill. My mind was being bombarded by the problems and thoughts that raced through it, my attention pulled every which way lately. I heard the thunder, but the noise didn't seem to register in my mind as I started to sniffle, tears welling up in my eyes.
I dropped to all fours, making sure I was solid before sitting my slightly-round rear on the hilltop and putting my paws in between for balance. My stomach, slightly rounded, held them next to my footpaws. Sniffling more, I brought one up to examine my amulet as I sniffled again, letting it fall back to my chest before putting my paw back down, holding firmly against the hill before letting my tears flow freely. The sky was getting darker as I sat and cried, letting my emotions flow.
Then, it started to rain. The water felt nice against my body, but I couldn't register anything more than a few small pokes here and there. I also couldn't feel my tail tingling, the water causing the fire to die down, little by little. The steam rose from the end, but I neither noticed nor cared and I kept crying.
After a few more minutes, I started to come to my senses and look around, seeing the rain still falling, a bit harder now. I felt the tingling, but looked forward again after looking at it. I let out a soft cry before crying again, letting the rain ease me into a peaceful sleep as the tears welled up again in my eyes.
This picture is one I've wanted for a long while. The scene is based off of the episode in the Anime "Charmander - The Stray Pokemon." This is me, sitting alone in the rain, trying to hold back the tears as the rain falls from the sky and slowly extinguishes my tailflame. I know I am a little chubby, so please don't pay it too much mind. This wonderful piece was done by
Aemi, and she has some very amazing art, you should check it out.
