And here's the fateful moment when the sequel makes the same mistake as the first book - introducing background characters, most of which will never be mentioned again, halfway through.

I think now is the best time to introduce you to the other members of my pack, the LJs. Once again, they are all cubs.
Let’s start with my best friend, Cross. He is quite kind, but also very timid, like me. His eye color is very interesting, as it somehow change color each day. The cycle is brown, blue, green, grey, the brown again. No one can explain why this is, not even Solar, the oldest of the LBs.

Next is my rival, Star. No, not the Star that was the former Alpha of the LBs. Star, the daughter of an LB and a PJ. And I hate her. She always does something to me, then when an adult arrives, she plays the victim. She is also quite the narcissist, always bragging about her emerald eyes and how they are such a rare eye color.
Next are the triplets, Helio, Seliniakos, and Polikos. I know that Helio is the sole male and that they have completely different personalities. Helio is easily angered, Seliniakos is very calm and always considers the possibilities of something, and Polikos is a pefectionist.

Helio has ruby red eyes, Seliniakos has dark blue eyes, and Polikos has eye color the same hue of ice. And that is were the differences end. Their voices are all somehow the same, they have the exact same fur color, they even have the same body shape.
Lotus is next, and to be honest, he is quite mysterious. I have never looked him directly in the eye or even spoken to him. His fur color is a darker hue of gray than other Lightjumpers, and that’s about all I know about him.

Rose is the physically strongest of us LJs, and loves rough-playing with her sister older sister, Trinity. However, when Trinity is not in the mood for it, she has ME as her substitute. She doesn’t do anything TOO bad, but many of the other cubs fear her...
Trinity is... kinda weird. Her personality... or personalities... are very dramatic. One day, she is kind, the next day, extremely emotional, and very, VERY energetic the next day. She only fights Rose when energetic, because when she is kind, she doesn’t want to hurt her and when emotional, well, you can guess why.

Her eye color varies with her personality. Green when kind, blue when emotional, and yellow when she can bounce off walls.
The Lightjumpers/Preybringers are still a very small pack. But once we grow up and have children, the LJs/PBs will become a great pack in more way than one...
