Appearance

When working with Dr. Flame and Lion-Gal, he switches to his tennis uniform — a short-sleeved collared shirt with large red-and-yellow checkered patterns, red shorts, tennis shoes, yellow wristbands, and red sweatbands.

Backstory
Tony Esmeralda Rico is a born mutant raised by his grandmother, Gabriela, after his parents died during a cruise accident. He only knows them through stories describing them as free-spirited activists.
He discovered his powers at age four. Afraid he might hurt himself or others, his grandmother trained him to control them and encouraged him to use his abilities responsibly.
At school he became popular with the basketball team after performing impossible slam dunks — his fire powers made his body lighter than air, earning him the nickname Los Grillo.
Before finishing 11th grade, he saw news coverage of Doctor Flame. He became inspired, believing he could one day help people alongside a hero who represented someone like him.
With his grandmother’s blessing, he crossed the border into San Diego, California — immediately getting caught in the middle of a major superhero battle. After being rescued by Dr. Flame, he was harshly scolded and belittled by the very hero he idolized.
Disillusioned by Andres’ personality, Tony instead found inspiration in Lion-Gal. He saw her as disciplined, moral, and respectful — the kind of hero he wanted to become. This admiration quickly turned into an obvious crush.
After negotiations with the SSDF (State Super Defense Force), Tony was allowed to stay and train as their sidekick. He now trains under both Andres/Dr. Flame and Angelina/Lion-Gal, frequently clashing with Andres about what being a hero actually means — and complicating matters with a one-sided love triangle.
Personality
Tony is timid, cowardly, polite, and extremely helpful. He often reacts to bizarre situations with exaggerated expressions and panic because he is still adjusting to superhero life.
He begins insecure but optimistic. His hobbies include cooking, comic books, and sports. When pushed, he can become argumentative and ramble passionately.
He is also diligent and strong-willed. He obsessively takes notes about hero work, carrying stacks of index cards in his pockets. Because of this habit, he developed a sharp analytical mind and can create battle strategies in seconds, factoring in allies and enemies alike. Angelina has noted he could easily succeed in business or marketing.
Tony is deeply compassionate and will rush to save someone even when he knows he is outmatched and if the potential danger is terrifying. Ironically, he becomes reckless in emergencies despite normally overthinking everything.
He is loyal to a fault, guided by a strict personal honor code. He is clumsy, stubborn about helping people, unintentionally blunt, and hopelessly romantic. He has a temper — but far milder than Andres. His defining traits are kindness and sincerity.
He also wants recognition and sometimes uses cheap popularity tactics, like wearing local team jerseys wherever he goes.

Tony possesses extremely refined fire manipulation — in pure control and precision he actually surpasses Andres.
