After school, both kids went running downtown. They remembered where the Union was originally on strike, and ran the assumption that they were still there. Sure enough, the large mob was shouting and chanting outside the building. Seems the cops were there trying to help workers get inside, but the strikers still made it difficult.
“Looks like things are getting rough if the police are involved,” Isaac said, “But I don’t know if this proves anything.”
“Maybe we should ask around, or just look around.” Elisa said, “There’s a lot of people, but this may not be everyone. Those robberies were small groups, after all.”
Isaac nodded and followed the cat, and the two started walking the edge of the crowd for any sign of trouble. It didn’t seem like much, and everyone was focused on the cops and protestors. There was a scuffle between them as the bus, in between, was trying to get through the main gates and into the building. By the time the bus got through the gate, the kids just sat down by the fence. Their one lead was a bust.
“Nothing really suspicious at all.” Elisa said, “And I was so certain too. All the connections were there.”
“Yeah, they just seem like angry protesters.” Isaac said, watching the crowd as the bus passed through. “Wait a minute.” Isaac laid on the cement, watching the bus as it was rolling up to the building.
Elisa didn’t get why he was doing that, until she did the same thing, they could both see it now. On the underside of the bus were people hanging to the underside of it. People who probably shouldn’t be there, the criminals they were after.
“We gotta get in there.” Elisa said, sitting up, “We know what’s going on.”
“Yeah, it’s gotta be them.” Isaac said, “But how? I freeze stuff, but I can’t fly with it.”
“We change costumes first.” Elisa said
