Higher the level you get, the shorter and more compact you get while getting stronger and harder to kill... but only for the means of carrying things around when ordered to by adventurers. In Nodwick's case, he used to be like 5'11" and eventually was like 3 feet tall. His nose grew instead of his butt.
Fun fact: Later issue of Nodwick created evil henchmen that can find anything they are ordered to if it's in range instead of carrying thing like "Good" henchmen can.
