Ah, Charizard, my first love. In gen 1, seeing the box art, Charizard looked very strong, confident, proud, independent.
When my Charmeleon evolved into Charizard, the in game sprite made me think of it as strong, protective, and almost motherly even.
Ah, that's a wonderful experience, to imagine being in good hands (claws?) of a friend you can rely on. And then came Mew. X3
