What I have noticed in 80's cartoons is that, yeah, the political leaders suck. I feel it was more of a funny thing, as the show's writers always have them arguing or blaming each other. That and the fact that the Russian leader always looks fat and evil.
not just in Gijoe but every 80's cartoon.
As a kid, I didn't really care wanted to see the cool battle and one-liners.

Oh the 80's

90's was a bit different and it was really fun cartoons and trying out new idea's a long with anime showing up more and Politics was more in the back burners. But going to say Early 2000 cartoon nextwork and some top bangers I still love to this day. I feel like we need that back for cartoons. I feel we do need the fun times to come back.
