AJ is probably the one who looks closest to her original design, just... a little more elaborate in markings and such. Bear with me, pls.

Honeycrisp "Jack" Apple
✦ nicknames include Applejack (which gets used more than her actual given name), AJ, Jack, Jackie, Honey (by Granny Smith and other family members)

✦ 100% earth pony, babeyyyyy (has draft horse lineage on her dad's side)

✦ owns the Sweet Apple Acres outright. Mac gave up his portion of ownership to Jack as soon as she turned of age. He knows she can care for the land and family heritage much better than he ever could. He's happy to help, just not be in charge

Cutiemark is a red apple (implied honeycrisp) with honey dripping over the top with a bee perched in the dripping honey. Represents her family name, her own name, and how devotion/loyalty can be sickly sweet but also prickly at times if gone to an overbearing degree.

Colour scheme is pretty similar to her canon design, just given some warmer tones and dulled down the brightness as I think it just works with her being an earth pony + farm worker.
While it isn't present in all my redesigns or designs as a whole, I try to match the hooves to the eye colour in some way to bring the scheme together.

Hair/mane design is, once again, similar to the canon design but with more personality to the bangs + added braids since it would be much more efficient than ponytails/whatever you wanna call her canon hairstyle. As a working pony, the braids will have less movement and less risk of coming undone; this way she only has to worry about her bangs getting in her face (she can absolutely grow them out or cut them but nooooooo she insists on keeping the choppy bangs).

Instead of her three freckles under her eyes, I decided to go with a more realistic horse/pony coat pattern with the mismatched socks, bonnet marking, and blanket/semi-dapple markings. Her markings ARE NOT symmetrical! The body markings don't need to be exact, either.

Like Twilight, her personality is pretty much on par with the canon version, just matured. There's no reason why she should be getting so pissed off over the littlest things. Yeah she gets stressed, but she's an adult and doesn't take that out by yelling at her little sister or friends. In my AU she's the most mature out of all the Mane 6 due to having to "grow up early" once her parents passed away. She's the most maternal and level-headed of them all. She takes no shit, is fairly blunt in both personality and humor, and she loves so, so deeply. It takes some time for her to trust someone and to let them in, but once you're let in? You will never leave. She would die for you.




*I am aware that in canon AJ is the element of honesty, not loyalty. I always thought loyalty would fit better, however, due to the many hats she wears throughout the series- sister, mother figure, element of harmony, farmer/worker, etc. Being able to show her devotion- her loyalty- through her acts of service.
