So for today's oekaki session, i was thinking to myself that I feel like what my art lacks in the most is expression of life from a character's personality, so I tried to rectify this with this picture.
I wanted to draw a very pregnant girl with life of expression, and was suggested that to practice that I should do a bust shot, and was also suggested to try a Draenei girl since I said no game girls, but WoW would be okay.
This is what I came up with. Dunno how successful I was with capturing expressiveness here, but so far the ones I've shown it to before posting have thought I did well with her.
Honestly, I rather want to see how she'd look full-body now, but alas XD;

It looks good, but she seems to have a similar expression to most of your works. If you're practicing expression maybe you should move away from your comfort zone. Instead of having her in a happy or sexy mood, how else might she feel? She's lugging around a lot of extra weight and her species is immortal, so you have to imagine this probably isn't something she's used to doing, or others are used to seeing. She also has to balance on those little hooves of hers, and judging by her attire she doesn't look the sort to get to just take maternity leave. Oh, and she looks like she's about to push out something that has horns. None of that is going to change that she's blissful or feels sexy, but she also might feel apprehensive, anxious, frustrated... even embarrassed.
Personally I think your art is amazing the way it is. I've never taken issue with the expressions your characters had. I like the look in this picture becuase I'm a big fan of the look of the "proud mother to be" who just enjoys being swollen so rediculously large with life. Another great image, and yes, I want to see the rest of her too. hehehe
I think the mixture of pose and expression do a good job of conveying 'life' to the piece. It's not perfect, but that takes a lot of practice - and is really tough with eyes like Draenei have. Overall, a wonderful piece. (as well as one that combines several favorites of mine, and wonderfully so)
