Two elements coursing through one bloodline - his mother, Metkayina, with whom he spent his entire youth, and his father, Omatikaya, a traitor who bound his life to the sky people.
Both the sea salt of Metkayina and the scent of Omatikaya’s tree roots flow in his veins. This enables him to glide underwater as effortlessly as he moves through the dense forest, without feeling either element as foreign. When he dives into the ocean, his skin shimmers with a soft blue glow; in the forest, the foliage whispers around him, as if recognizing his kinship. Dark skin and golden eyes - a rare combination considered the "banner of the ancestors" in the traditions of both tribes, but to Txur, it’s a "mistake," something he sometimes finds embarrassing.
“ Eywa gave you; there can be no mistake in Eywa,” his mother repeats almost like a mantra. She says this to comfort her son, reminding him that his existence is a gift, not an error. She believes her son is a blessing from Eywa, the great mother of nature.
He can “listen” to any living creature on Eywa, from tiny water bugs to massive Tulkuns. When he makes contact, he hears their “songs,” as if they’re trying to communicate with him. His spiritual bond with water makes him attuned to vibrations, while his forest heritage grants him the ability to perceive the whispers of leaves and wind - all seeming to speak to him: fish, beetles, trees, even stones, as if their murmurs reach his ears. As he passes through a coral reef, the coral “sings” of approaching tides, and in the forest, the rustling leaves warn of an impending storm. This frightens him, for he is unlike “normal” tribesmen.
He has a secret with the Nightwraith — rescued from the Mangwan clan, the Nightwraith has become his strongest connection. Their bond is not built on strength but on mutual respect.
his father was in league with the heavenly people, but Tksur feels no malice towards them. Even though he deems his father a traitor, in his secret dreams he sometimes hears his father's voice singing ancient forest ballads. This makes him question his one-sided hostility. He feels a little sad and tries to understand his father's motives.
He left his native island. Though he feels more akin to the water tribe, an almost imperceptible call stirs within him, urging him to seek out the forests. In his nighttime visions, he sees luminous branches stretching toward the stars, and hears a whisper of “home,” driving him onward. He longs to find out the truth about his father and unravel his secrets, to understand why everything is the way it is, and to understand who he is.
