Pokemon IF-77: Fighting Giovanni! (part 1)
...ok, I feel like I should provide some context as to why I let my overpowered, hard-hitting water type die to a random attack. So, here's the full context.
Starting this fight, I assumed (don't ask me why) that if Erika's level cap was 35, then Giovanni's ace Pokemon would be somewhere around 32 or such. And so, I wasn't concerned over my Pokemon being slightly underleveled, around level 30 or such... all of Giovanni's Pokemon were level 32, with his ace Pokemon being level 35... so here I was, fighting a battle for which every Pokemon on my team, except Ace, was severely underleveled for. And, since Giovanni specializes in Ground types, I could not put Ace in safely. So, what did I do? I sent out Neptune and hoped for the best.
As shown, Neptune got the one-shot on Giovanni's Arbok and Onix fusion, for which I got extremely lucky with a critical hit that I thought wasn't necessary, but after making some calculations, I now realize that it DEFINITELY mattered. And afterwards, Giovanni sent out his ace Pokemon. After seeing the damage that one Shadow Ball from that Pokemon did to Neptune, I assumed that he'd be able to tank another one and two-shot the Pokemon with Crabhammer right after. Turns out, I had just gotten lucky with a low-roll, and the next Shadow Ball ended up finishing Neptune... so yeah, there goes one of my heavier hitters.
If you want to play, the link from where I downloaded it is here: https://www.pokecommunity.com/showt.....d.php?t=347883
There's also a Discord server that helps whenever there are updates to the game, but like... google works too.
