The next day, an entirely different atmosphere was set. The threat of the serpent was eradicated, leading the folks of G’eelm Outpost to all collectively wipe the sweat from their brows knowing that they were safe. A town-wide festival was held in the morning to celebrate the occasion and recognize their heroes: Chieftain Xander, Zenchi, Ithaca, and Roseland. It was a lovely display in every regard, with music and dancing, abundant food and drinks, and one massive story to tell. And telling that story is just what Xander did for his adorable daughter, Petal. The ceremony had just concluded, and The Lands Trio joined the Dorwins on their outing to the town’s popular nature reserve, Mountainview Park. It had a clear view of the Angel Mountains and was well clear of the busyness and noisiness of G’eelm. “Hehehe. And that's how pop took down a big scaarryy monster. Pretty crackin' eh kiddo?” Xander finishes telling Petal the story of what happened the night prior, the adventure out to sea and the battle that ensued. She likely didn’t understand most of it, but it mattered not. The young cattalo was bubbling with joy to hear her father tell a story with so much excitement. Sat across the table at their small terrace, Ithaca couldn’t help but smile and wag her fluffy tail as she watched Xander go from a brave Outrider warrior to a happy father, cracking jokes and being his normal goofy self, “Awww! He turns into such a softie when he's around Petal!”
Wyona quite liked her husband’s fatherly demeanor as well, noting how easily he could switch from serious to silly whenever needed, “That's what I love about 'em. One day he's fightin' against some wild beast and the next he's tellin' a story like the world's best daddy.” Taking in the wholesome moment while sipping her tea, Roseland congratulates Wyona on picking such a worthy man to be her husband, “You're a lucky lady, Mrs. Dorwin. You should have seen him last night. It was no easy task, but he did it to keep you, your daughter, and everyone else safe.” Indeed, while it may have been a long time in the making, it was Xander who led the final charge against the serpent. Many battles had been lost by the Outriders in history, but the war had finally been won. “He did. And now the people of G'eelm Outpost can rest a little easier without that monster breathing down everyone's back.” Standing by her friends, both old and new, Zenchi assured Wyona that she and her daughter would never again have to fear the sea monster. The worst had passed, the townsfolk could enjoy their humble lives, and the Outriders had taken back the seas that had been stolen away from them so long ago. That being said, while the mood was bright and friendly banter was buzzing, Ithaca pondered the obvious question of where to go from here, “So...now that our mission is complete, what next Chi-Chi?” It had been some months in the making, but with the goal now being cleared, a new sense of direction would be requested from their leader, Zenchi.
