Dergex has been a loyal friend to Skulltooth for as long as anyone can remember, and such devotion and loyalty naturally led Dergex to be one of Skulltooth's top generals in the Blackburrow Clan's militaristic force. Don't think it was favoritism alone that got Dergex to his position of power however, for Dergex is a potent user of earthen magic to which he crushes and pummels his enemies with.

Years ago, Dergex was caught in an explosion set by the humans of Qeynos and their allies, which blew him clean in half from the waist down. Such a devastating attack did not keep Dergex down, however, for he, aided by his earthen powers, grafted a new lower half of his body to which he sealed onto himself to once again give him mobility. If anything, his earthen prosthetics enhanced his combat abilities, making him quite resistant to piercing and slashing attacks below his abdomen. That and his legs don't exactly get tired anymore either.
