For the best boyfriend ever. <3 He's got so much swagger!
Experimented with a few new things with this badge - originally it was going to be more painterly, but it ended up being kind of sloppy, so I tried mixing some of what I've learned through cel shading with it and added some backlights at Alice-the-Sable's ingenious suggestion. Thanks to VexinglyYours, Turnsky, Tapewolf, and Alice for putting up with me and giving me constructive criticism.
The background was made using some sakura brushes I downloaded from pigmonkeynsuzi's DeviantArt page and some textures I found here.
THE SWORD WAS ORIGINALLY BLUE BECAUSE THE LIGHTING IN THE PHOTOGRAPH COG GAVE ME MADE IT LOOK BLUE BUT IT ENDED UP BEING BLACK. The name of the adjusted JPG I sent him was "CogidubnusBadgeFUCKINGSWORD.jpg".
YAY I'M DONE if anyone wants a badge done in this shading style let me know.

Swords are awesome, I love everything about them...so naturally this gets a stamp of awesome from me.
The amount of detail you put into the hilt of the sword is really eye catching.
The coloring and shading is marvelous, and I think the font used was an awesome choice.
Then finally the classy pose, lines, and the blood red background that really puts the finishing touches...to make for what I think is an overall awesome badge. The pointers Alice and Vexy gave you also really made for a great finished product.
Also the lightning is boss.
