Look, the Big-M, maybe there is $100,00 buried underneath it. Wait i just got corrected, that’s only if there is a Big-W, or on the Simpson’s a Big-T. I probably just dated myself twice, but if you have ever seen the movie, It’s A Mad Mad Mad World, you will know what I’m talking about. Remember this, if you think that you are having a bad day, there are probably those who are having one that is way worse.
I hate the beginning of February, but it used to not be like that till I started working retail. It’s where people who make bigger paychecks than I do sit back in cozy chairs that come up with new ideas on how to fix things that aren’t broken. I do believe in leaving room for improvements, but from working for the same place for so many years, I have often seen steps taken backwards.
If many of you live in north central Texas, we just went through one of the worst ice storms that I along with many who have lived out here their entire life has ever experienced. Even though we had that extreme cold snap with snow a few years back, there was little ice involved. Friday it sleeted all night long, but it could have been worse with frozen rain. In the photo you can see that I was able to brace my car port with a couple of supports that I was lucky to have laying unused under the deck. When it gets warmer I will be putting something more permeate but I don’t think I will be able to get the sway out 100%. Then again mine has been up in place 35+ years, but it was rebased about 15 years ago. Some of these ones that fell I think have been up for maybe only two years. I also think that If I were able to make it to work, I wouldn’t have been around to see that I was facing a bit of a problem of keeping it from falling. Four to six inches of packed ice does get a bit heavy. Things could have been way worse if we were to have gotten freezing rain instead of ice. For those that don’t know what that is, freezing rain where it rains and then freezes when it makes contact. So instead of sleet bouncing off of things, it sticks to whatever it touches. So it makes everything a lot heavier, and it will cause powerlines, trees and other things to come down. I’ve actually seen freezing rain get stuck in the deer coats. Freezing rain can also lead to a lot more accidents due to black ice on the highway.

I hear you; we got 15" here last weekend. My garage roof caved in a couple of years ago due to another storm. Some power equipment is still in there (an air compressor, a generator and a snow blower) but it's under tarps.
Around here we don't have Big-M, Big-W or Big-T, but we've got Big Y instead. We also have Stop & Shop, which is not just imagined on Family Guy.
Yeah, I've worked for and with so many people whose only goal in life was to create the illusion that they were indispensable. They always make decisions to make themselves look good and to heck with anyone else -- or the company's bottom line. That's what killed Radio Shark.
