A piece I put out during artfight 2025, the characters both belong to Scratchgeist. As it turns out there is multiple plants referred to as skunkweed so I went with one that had a nice big red flower for a floral wreath theme (there's a pride in I Hope So that uses eyecolour-as-flower for a naming scheme so figured it fit). thematic character wreaths are fun. iirc Skunkweed was a cis dude and Duke is trans.
Skunkweed began as an adoptable sold by CalicoBarbarian, one of the creators of the I Hope So comic about gay lions, Duke was an adoptable sold by TheCynicalHound who pens the comic Tofauti Sawa.
Both comics are free to read online and feature lgbt+ characters, I will note that Tofauti Sawa gets very violent and grim (cute lil' cub characters can die onscreen) so if you prefer a more teen/YA series then I Hope So might be more your thing (it does open on a recent stillbirth within a litter but you don't see the bodies, just the characters' reactions). Both are good though.
