tried the Reaper general_dynamics plugin, which is another compressor that lets you draw the compression curves. It's a little less exact as the graph looks jagged until you apply smoothing, but you can also do lookahead and two kinds of attack/release, which the other compressors don't have. It probably sounds a lot cleaner than what I've been doing recently
