Heyo. A while ago I took a break from work on Dragon Engine to work on a smaller side project. This was my way of keeping occupied and keeping in practice over the Christmas break we just had. The project is called OpenFantasy. I finished the terrain building system around Christmas and then moved back to my main projects after the break.
OpenFantasy works and now that LORE is done I need a project to replace it with. The image here is an in-editor screenshot of a modern city themed landscape I built. The game uses a grid system for making the world and environments. The cubes and other tiles here are hand placed from an archive of 200 I built in 50 colours and patterns.
I’m resuming work on the project. The hard part making the cubes and exporting them to a grid building system is done. The project is named OpenFantasy because I’m releasing the source files and textures when I’m done with them. The project is to make a fully functional fantasy video game and then open source the parts.
