I still am extremely uncomfortable on social media.
I've noticed I'm quite stingy about giving out likes/faves, and I wish I could get over that. But I don't have the social capital to do anything beyond pressing the little heart button, and it just feels so... off. Yeah, yeah, I'm an old guy and I remember things like Livejournal before those little tags or reposts existed, and the best (only?) way to let someone know you liked something was to SAY something. And if I find something remarkable enough to stop and fully appreciate, I figure the artist deserves to know why.
So this is why my submission queue is...ugh, don't ask.

You do know that a lot of people do that to a lot of us.
Even more lately like they are afraid that people know that you like any works done by others.

ROFLOL!!! I find that quite relatable. Now, if it's a person that I'm not on close terms with, then I'm perfectly fine with simply giving a like or a fav. But if it's a close friend, then yeah, I feel obligated to also give a comment, and sometimes my brain just won't function enough for that. XD
So I say don't worry about it; as much as I may personally love it whenever you respond or comment on my stuff, I am not entitled to it. So you continue living your best life as much as you can. x3

I don't mind the "like, but no comment" behaviour on my works at all. At least it acknowledges that someone took the time to view, or in my case, read my work and appreciate that I posted it.
But then, I'm not a graphic artist. My art is in words, and everyone knows it is SO MUCH HARDER to read a wall of text and like it, versus to look at a picture for three seconds and like it. Granted, feedback is nice, but a given like for a story is just as good.
