I've been wanting to create an illustration for my grandmother for a while. After my mother, she's basically the biggest fan of my watercolour illustrations, and she really loves the prints of my work my mother gifted her. So now, she has an original of her own ❤️

Drawing the background for this one was quite challenging, but I'm glad I pushed through ❤️ I've long been incredibly scared of drawing backgrounds, but I've been working hard to draw them anyway and simply accept some wonkiness here and there ;)

Grandma has made attempts at teaching me how to knit, but it never really stuck - maybe I should try to pick it up again, as well as crochet <3

As most of my work, this piece is largely inspired by the illustrated children's books I've grown up with, but this time I also let myself get inspired by the interiors of my grandparents on both sides, as well as the clothing that would've been popular when my grandmother was a young adult :)

I had a lot of fun creating this little piece (it's only 13*13cm!), and I'm excited to create more this year <3 (Gosh, is January really almost over already?)
