As a child, I loved the Griezelbus book series by Paul van Loon (and thought they were super scary!) 'The Painting' and 'Cat Grass' have always stuck with me), and his books were a great support for a young girl who was often considered quite strange by her peers.

That's why I wanted to give something back, and that became this illustration, with references to my favorite stories from the first Griezelbus ❤️ I gifted this painting to him at Heroes Dutch Comic Con at his book signing, and sometime later he posted a wonderful response to it on his Facebook <3

I really enjoyed painting this illustration, and I'm looking forward to rereading the rest of the series 👻
