Context wise, this concept art shows Brack scavenging an abandoned Cooperative in the Yellow Zone. Using his holographic technology he's able to scan the nearby safe and figure out which buttons were pressed the most often, giving him a series of likely safe combinations. He's able to eventually type in the correct code and gets some free stamps out of it, a lucky day so far... Then the bandits show up.

I kinda made it a bit easy on him by making it so the code only consisted of 3 numbers rather than 4. (The numbers being "1" "5" and "0").
But yeah if you knew what numbers consisted of the code it would be a lot easier to figure it out, and many key pads often show wear on the numbers which are hit the most.
