So when I was about fourteen or fifteen I made up a fantasy species called Sentinels. They were these kind of griffin-y, sphinx-y creatures which were grown in vats by a witch to guard her island. There were three of them in the pride -- I forget all their names, though I think this one was called Grade -- and each of them had different powers that they'd use in the witch's defence. Grade could pick up fire and manipulate it and shoot it around.
Their bodies used to be a lot more humanoid in shape, but I always wanted them to be able to be quadrupeds as well as bipeds, so I've finally redesigned them to be shaped more like big dogs or lions. And I changed the generic lion tuft on the end of the tail to something that might be used to steer in the air. I haven't really drawn them in years, but I still have a soft spot for these guys.
