Yes, this is from the Dino-might Gals series. I have not watched Adventure time so I don't know about the flame princess at all.
And yes, that's the theme, that the meteor wants nothing but to destroy dinos, and the dino gals might have some fear of her XD
I mostly use the round brush. The rock was a textures used from photos out of google and filtered and edited with some paint over. The fire effect is stock flames that were stretched and morphed into place.
