Name: Scipione Scopanzi
Nicknames: “Scip”, Scorpion and Liar
Titles: Advisor to the King
Age: Late 20’s-30’s
Height: 8 ft (head to tailfin)
Weight: 290 lbs
Hair Color: Blue
Eye Color: Yellow
Ethnicity: Stonefish Feral /Classical merfolk mix
Physical Description: A relatively short merman, a half classical and half feral stonefish merman. His body is covered in a scaly sheen of purple scales, flecked with lime green blotches on his tail, abdomen and forearms. He takes primarily after the stonefish feral side of his father, and has spikes throughout his body. The webbing in his earfins and between his fingers are a gradient of green and yellow, while the rest of his fins are blue and squat.
Clothing/Armor: As with most male merfolk, he wears little, merely wrist cuffs, a belt and a necklace, all badges of his office as an advisor.
Weapons: His squat and unassuming dorsal fin has five spines, loaded with a powerful neurotoxin, more deadly than that in the lionfish, it causes a painful death in a manner of hours. He carries a small bottle with him; he maintains it to be an anti-toxin for the venom in his back spines. Other than his natural venom, he has no other weapons.
Sexuality: Straight.
Marital status: Bachelor
Personality: Despite his somewhat calm demeanor, Scip is a callous and power-hungry merman. He hates the ruling family and has done his utmost to disguise this with endless ironclad lies. While charming people with his relative good looks, and engaging personality, he is constantly undermining them to gain more power.. Totally driven through ambition, it is his goal to be the sole ruler of the ocean, and those who impede his progress are quickly brought down, and disposed of. The end always justifies the means for Scipione, who resorts to forgery, bribery and murder without a second thought. He uses women, and the impoverished as informants and hit men, and often disposes of them to prevent any trace of his involvement.
Likes: Power, advancement through the government, wealth, exotic food, public celebrations, and crushing his rivals without dirtying his hands
Dislikes: The Royal family, land-dwellers, involving himself directly in his actions and settling for any life without the crown.
History: His origins are largely unknown; supposedly he is the son of an apothecary, from a relatively unsettled area to the south of Paroceanica. In his early teens, he quickly set himself to working towards a life in the government, in several cities. His charm and apparent knowledge brought the merchants of the towns to easily trust him with their financial decisions, and secured a job as a leader of a merchant’s guild.
Through his ill-gotten gains, Scipione became wealthy and the most desirable bachelor in the town. Strangely as the guild was experiencing success, he staged a crisis and disbanded it, leaving for the Capital. Scipione had his eyes on the throne, even then. With experience and the financial remains of his guild, he left the town and headed north for the capital.
Paroceanica dazzled him when he arrived, one of the wealthiest and oldest-constantly inhabited city of the world, jobs were plentiful and success easy. Stepping through jobs as a representative to the city assembly, and eliminating a few rivals discreetly, arrived at this most prominent job yet, advisor to the king.
His elevation coincided with a surplus of food and materials, and Paroceanica was expanding, and celebrating its thousandth year of existence under the Crown, the ruling dynasty had held on to since it’s foundation. It was an achievement Scipione would do everything in his power to topple.
Powers/abilities: Scipione’s poison is his greatest power; it’s naturally produced within him, and can easily kill a humanoid. His own poison production makes him immune from other toxins, and his hard scales also give him minor armor- making glancing blows utterly useless against him.
Forms: Scipione has two forms, His true appearance is a hideous stonefish-feral, a monster hated for their famous brutality and deadly sting. The potion he carries with him allows him to change into his more approachable and trustworthy form, and allows him to interact with his victims and underlings.

I forgot to submit this.
I did this back in the spring, and I'm pretty happy with it. I've been trying to get this character down for sometime, and he's taken a position of prominence in my very disorganized story. He's a main antagonist, and is involved in quite a bit of misfortunes that befall the citizens of the Sea.
He was inspired in design and personality by Ambassador Laquatus, a merfolk villan from the Magic the Gathering series, (Odyssey Cycle, and as a giant zombie plant thing in Scourge) an all-time favorite villan of mine. As far as his species, he's based off of a stonefish, a super-deadly fish that looks like a rock, his feral form- if i ever design it, will reflect the species much more clearly.
"When that creature smiles, he foresees venom pushed into your veins."
