Hi guys^^
I've been writing a book for a while now. The book is still in development, but I already have the characters in mind^^
Here's the main character: Nylo, a fox in training to be a porter.
I hope you like Nylo x3
Maybe I'll publish the prologue soon. Like I said: it's still fresh and just beginning^^
The next main character is coming soon ^w^
Here's a brief introduction to the world:
It's been about 100 years since the great Sonic destroyed the world. 98% of living things on Earth were wiped out. Since then, monsters have been appearing from certain sonic zones and killing everyone they see. It's unknown why this happened. There are two theories: the first, a research accident. The second, a recoil from the Big Bang.
Name: The Poet
Gender: Male
Age: about 30
Species: Coral Snake
Occupation: One of the top 5 assassins of the sect "The Silent Ones"
Description:
The poet is a tall, slender assassin with the scales of a coral snake. His movements are calm, almost solemn, as if each step follows an inner rhythm. Although his body is muscular and trained, he never appears clumsy—his strength is expressed in supple elegance. His face is defined by narrow, hypnotic yellow-orange eyes that seem to look through the viewer. He always wears a faint, almost knowing smile, as if he has already written the end of the poem while others are only hearing the beginning. His clothing is tight-fitting red leather with black accents, interspersed with fine gold ornamentation, giving him an almost aristocratic appearance. Around his waist and thighs hang leather straps, to which books and scrolls are attached—some old and tattered, others neatly closed. At his back, he carries his resonating spear-staff knife in a narrow quiver, but he is most often seen holding an open book of poetry. He recites verses from the ancient world in a calm voice as he confronts his enemies. For him, battle is a stage, death a spectacle, and each victim becomes the protagonist of his final verse.
Background:
No one knows the poet's exact age. Some say he is barely thirty, others claim he is older than he appears. The only thing that is certain is that his life is a continuous performance of words, death, and secrets. He was born in a nameless city shortly after the Great Sound. His parents were simple people who earned their living trading in scriptures and old books. Early on, he discovered a fascination with language—while other children played, he listened to stories in fragile volumes from the ancient world. He repeated words as if they were incantations and lost himself in sentences that hardly anyone but him understood. As he grew older, his parents began to fear him. The boy spoke with a voice that sounded strange, hypnotic, and ominous. When he recited verses, the street dogs fell silent and the birds fell still. It was said that the words themselves had a resonance that was otherworldly. With adolescence came loneliness. He left his parents' home, driven by a longing for texts older and deeper than any chronicle of the survivors. On the streets, he learned to defend himself. His body was slim, but soon trained: scales, muscles, and stamina made him an elegant fighter. He fought not out of anger, but out of necessity—and even then, he recited verses as he struck down his opponents. Soon, he always carried a black book with him, filled with transcripts, quotations, and his own verses. He was particularly captivated by the verses of Franz Kafka: words about transformation, isolation, and the unfathomable horror of existence. They gave his life a new direction—death was not an end, but the completion of a poem. For many years, he wandered from place to place. He performed in taverns, but his listeners often disappeared without a trace. Others reported reciting verses in the midst of darkness while bodies fell all around him, as if caught in a silent spectacle. It was during these years that he received his Resonating Spear Staff Knife, a weapon that seemed to answer his voice. Carried in a narrow quiver on his back, it was not only a tool but also a symbol of his dual nature: poet and murderer, artist and executioner. The sect "The Silent Ones" didn't find him—he found them. They recognized in him a man who combined words and death in a way they had never seen before. His place among the assassins was inevitable. There he received his nickname: The Poet. Today, somewhere beyond the age of thirty, he moves like a living verse. No one knows his past in its entirety, no one knows how many books he still carries with him—or how many lives are forever trapped in his poems.
Who is Franz Kafka?
Franz Kafka (1883–1924) was a German-speaking writer from Prague. He is considered one of the most important authors of the modern era. His works often deal with alienation, fear, guilt, and the feeling of being at the mercy of an incomprehensible, overpowering order.
His most famous works are:
"The Metamorphosis" – the story of Gregor Samsa, who transforms into a vermin.
"The Trial" – a novel about a man accused without any reason being given.
"The Castle" – an unfinished novel about the unattainable center of power.
Kafka's style is characterized by a mixture of sober clarity and nightmarish mood. His texts depict a world in which people feel small and powerless.
Quotes by Franz Kafka:
"From a certain point on, there is no return. This point must be reached."
"Paths are created by walking them."
"A cage went to find a bird."
"The true path leads across a rope not stretched high, but just above the ground. It seems more destined to be stumbled upon than walked upon."
"You watch the sun slowly set and yet are frightened when it suddenly gets dark."
"I've never understood how anyone can be afraid of people. You're not small in front of people, but you are small in front of life."
