Photography - Horse Thief Lake - Black Hills SD
A photo taken of Horse Thief Lake in the Black Hills of South Dakota on a Nikon FT2 using Kodak Tri X 400 at box speed. The scenery here is pretty. When I lived in South Dakota I only made it out there a few times and wasn't taking as many photos at the time. This film was developed at home using a homemade instant coffee based developer, Cafenol. The results turned out decent, though a bit grainy than if using D76, but where I lived in South Dakota at the time, getting true black and white film processed at a lab in a timely manner was difficult. Now that I live in MN again, I might be able to start shooting film more often. I have found that setting my Nikon 7200 to Black and White mode and shooting as if I am using a true black and white film stock does work and lets me take advantage of using the color filters to create different effects.
