Been trying to see the aurora in person for years, whenever I hear it's potentially visible in my area. Just recently destroyed my sleep schedule staying up hoping for an opening in the clouds because it was supposed to be visible.
Most I've ever managed to catch is a vague grey glow, like the lights of a distant city that isn't there.
