Loamhedge is a massively underrated Redwall novel. This is especially egregious, since it features paws-down the best character in the entire series - Flinky the stoat! Sure, he might be a vermin, lazy, and too garrulous for his own good, but he's also a witty barrel of laughs, keenly intelligent and sly, and would rather his boss just chill instead of sending them all off to attack that weird red-bricked place that looks super boring anyway.
Unfortunately, his boss, Burrad the weasel, is a killjoy as well as a killer, who to put it mildly doesn't much appreciate Flinky’s banter and frequently critical zingers. At least Flinky can always count on his mate, fellow stoat and camp cook Crinktail; they're inseparable and are strong contenders for the best vermin power couple in the series!
I thought it was about time to draw something based on what remains my favorite Redwall book - the very book which first got me more into reading fiction and quite probably put me on the path to the furry fandom! Hopefully this is just the beginning of a fun new year of art!
All characters belong to Brian Jacques.

If only Burrad had got himself konked over the head or something, everybeast would have been better off.
Also, I always loved his name. Most other vermin are out there rocking violent names like 'Plumnose' or 'Blowfly' or 'Deadtooth'. Gross and violent appellations. And then there's Flinky. FLINKY. He'd be at home in a kid's cartoon.
