Eluțeria Madalhina Vaussent De Miravielha is the sole inhabitant of the abandoned fortress on the isle of Vaelrune in the Skovethra territories.
She was the daughter of a ship captain during Vica and Remilia's various expeditions of the world of Thalia. Remilia. Vica is part of the Grand Duchy of Remilia nowadays, but the city she grew up in, Miravielha, 750+ years ago is now a Dratzembourgian possession.
750 years ago, she was taken by a more unscrupulous member of a monster hunting faction called the Harrowed and deliberately infected with the virus that causes vampires in my setting.
It took me a while to come up with her name, I wanted to make something that sounded like a big mix of romance languages as Remilia is like a mix of Southern France/Northern Italy, but depending on where you go, you may see more Spanish/Portuguese/Romanian inspiration too!
She's the lone inhabitant of the old harrowed fortress and quite lonely. She hates having to drink blood, and feeds only on animals and hostiles.
Eluțeria obscures her true appearance behind heavy makeup, a wig, and minor illusory magic and can mutate into something even more terrifying. The older a vampire is, the more messed up they look...
She is good and refuses to let her hunger consume her, and she is revered in the local town of Kelravn as an urban legend, no one knows she is a vampire or if she even exists, but she helps the town behind the scenes when she can.
She's meant to be beautiful, pitiable, heroic, selfless, tragic, and scary at the same time.
