1:8 Mewblade * Letum Falcifer * Minature / Statuette
(This is for sale at https://ko-fi.com/vlk249 )
Sorry this took so long to show. Busy, books, the usual drill. Haven't spent a lot of time devoted to fixing up the 5 Mewblade figurines I do have since I'm mostly waiting for the foundry to complete the actual statue these figurines are replicated from. In the end, there are 5 1:8 sized 3D printed ones (3 in matte black, 2 in color, 4 of these are for sale on my Ko-fi https://ko-fi.com/vlk249 ) and then the life-sized bronze one to scare all my house guests with. Because that's what normal people who obsessively love their OCs do right? (No.)
Mewblade is my oldest character, and one I deeply cherish like no other. While she is a Mewthree, which means she's based on Mewtwo, it doesn't make her much of an OC per say and more of a fan character. And while still a Fakemon, her design has definitely diverged from the 2000s look she had to be more powerful and more anatomical, which has caused her to drift more into the anthropomorphic look than Pokemon, but that is fine by me. I love her egdes, I love that she looks like she means business.
The original 3D polygon model was done in Maya, and is quite old (about 2007), and was revamped heavily for its later purpose as a statue. The statue and figures diverge in that the eyes for the statue are carved to reflect depth, where the figure is expected to be painted. Both the figures and the statue are printed out with slurries, although what you see with the figures is basically the final product where the foundry has to go through a lot more stages to make a cast and then weld the plates together. Although it is thrilling to see my character and my art be these tangible things I can rotate in my hands and well... dance around in case of the larger one.
"Genetic Reaper Pokémon," Mewblade. Legendary Fakemon Mewthree, and featured in the final book of the Fatality series, "Three Wasted Chances." Original character and 3D polygon modeling (C) Vanessa L Krauss / VLK / VLK249 / Vaporeon249.
2 piece, character + pedestal, 3D printed character model with black matte model paint (Printing courtesy of Vancouver FX Studio.) Printing and painting processes are not perfect, there are minor defects with the final product due to the nature of the 3D printing process. If you'd like one, you can find it here Ko-fi https://ko-fi.com/vlk249
