Twilight Moon-Star is the lowly assistant to the ruler of Anerc Katafygio, Pauri. She has a secret desire to study illegal arcane magic,
but luckily so does Pauri. Pauri takes advantage of her interest in it, her eventual romantic feelings for him, and his class position over her.
He uses her as a pawn to understand this magic, and it results in her, albeit unintended, death. Arcane doesn't mesh well with mortal, fleshy, bodies after all.
