Something about such concept feels cool and actually logical
The weapons are always evolving so one day the hard scales will be not enough to protect even such powerful beast. It is never enough of protection in such case
And it just shows that these are not ordinary and savage creatures but cunning and intelligent one. Sometimes even scarily so.
Not to mention it just also looks always fresh and interesting in terms of how one or another artist will come up with idea of armor design or how it will even look.
