Maria had forgotten about her previous thoughts when she took his hand, but quickly let go afterwards. Flustered a bit with her sudden actions.
“I’m sure you had business to attend to. I’ll excuse myself Father.” Maria bowed her head slightly before turning to walk passed him, but stopped in her tracks by a large leathery wing stretching out in her way. Confused she looked back over at Shadow, her eyes widening as faced him now. A devilish grin across his face and horns sprouting from his head, a dull red glow coming from his eyes in the dark hall.
“I’m afraid not just yet Sister.” he replied a grin across his face as a long spade tail whipping by behind him.
