No surprise as to “who” was trying to run away. Was Martin trying to escape between classes by running through random doors, or just looked for the “personnel only” ones? It’s somewhat concerning that it could be that easy to leave without that security measure, especially for the wild ones.
When Lucius said “today” is retro, does that mean he has multiple pocket dimensions, or his one pocket dimension changes frequently? The latter sounds more like the chaotic agent Lucius makes himself out to be.

Just random doors. Lucius likes to let them run around a bit, blows off steam and screws with their heads a bit. But to actually get out into the world it's very difficult, any door to the outside will probably have several magical locks on it to prevent true escape
I'd like to think he makes a new dimension for each day, and rotates them out every so often. But I have ideas for other entries into the "escape dimension" saga so stay tuned
