This is a pic of Brand-New MARC 35, back in March of 2011, just as it arrived in Maryland, all the way from Idaho. Heck at this point, it has not even been prelubed, watered or "unpacked" meaning brakes are still set for dead-in-tow, batteries disconnected, small stuff not installed.
It's my job to 'unpack' comission and support the loco. It takes big helpings of computer support, mechanical skill, customer support and social skills. I ain't always the best guy for that, but I do OK. Just don't tell 'em I am a coyote...
MARC 35 is the last in its series numbered 10-35. 3600HP, EMD 645 engine, electronic fuel injection, tier 2 emissions compliant. The HEP engine is an impressive CAT C27 1800HP V12.
csx does not normally allow pics on its property like this, but I am allowed that, for company purposes... glad I can share 'em. I don't normally post RL or train pics on a Furry site, but I think theres some of us who will appreciate it.

Oh, I am sooo glad they didn't go with DMU...it'd be depressing if I had to see and hear those all day! x3 I am glad both Tri-Rail and SunRail eventually chose to haul with real locomotives. The engines in these (I'm hoping) will sound identical to the 645F3Bs in the SD50, which has got to be my favorite sounding loco of all time!
