Sombre Night
Day after day, night after night, Marischen searched for a relative, friend or just a neighbor. She tried many villages, many towns, but to the end she had to face the truth. The Alsace was nothing but a ruined battlefield, the incarnation of desolation.
Her mother had endured sufferings that she never imagined she would suffer herself too. Searching for her relatives in the ruins of what was her village, she can't help but to think about the reasons of the fall of the Alsace.
Why does our place have to suffer twice in two generations?
Why do we have to repeat the same mistake again and again?
Are we condemned to live this forever, as a curse that we will pass to the following generation?
