A demi-divine form doesn't just come from the gods, it can come from the remnants of a (formerly) living legend. The Bloodwing, a pirate queen from the distant past, had been known in the northern galaxy for generations for bringing down entire raider bands with just her crew and cunning. Even if she may have died centuries back, Dana (now going by Barbosa) seems to have taken up the mantle as pirate queen. In addition to gaining curves that could kill, Barbosa inherited the old queen's uncanny accuracy with a pair of enchanted flintlocks, and a flight pattern that only the most dedicated sniper could track.
