Parodius Non-Sense Fantasy (aka Parodius Da! ~Shinwa kara Owarai e~ [パロディウスだ! －神話からお笑いへ－]) released for the Super Nintendo in Europe in 1992 by Konami. Originally released in Japan in 1990.

I was lucky to get this game with my SNES in Germany as a kid. It was my introduction to Konami shooters, and I couldn't have started with a better one. It only released in Japan and Europe, making it one of the few PAL exclusive Western releases)

A silly horizontal shooter (shoot 'em up / shmup) featuring lots and lots of penguins and wacky covers of classical music. It's a parody of Konami's own Gradius / Nemesis series of shooters, featuring the same gameplay and power up style.

You can play as Vic Viper from Gradius (Gradius Weapons), Tako the Octopus (Salamander / Life Force Weapons), TwinBee (TwinBee Weapons) and Pentarō the Penguin from Arctic Adventure (Gradius III Weapons).
