This is a CAATS badge commissions for
ravennnn, of her cute little pink fennec sona, Raven. She's got white star "spots" that were a challenge to make! I think I did well on hers, though. I hardly ever use pink, and i'm really liking my effort!
What are CAATS?
CAATS(Coming Apart At The Seams) badges are a style of badge I came up with, where your badge is essentially in two parts, and then later stitched together which creates a dangling/swaying effect.

I actually have a little bald spot now, on the side.. Thinking about ripping the other side out so it matches. :P
It was tough! An entire reverse process where i thought about where to put the stars in my head, and I literally had to colour everything inside and around except for a tiny outline of a star. I couldn't use pencil outlines because I wouldn't have been able to erase them with the coloured pencil there, and I didn't use gel pens because it wouldn't have given me the texture that I wanted..
So yeah. No making fun of my bald spot. I'ma turn it into a crazy fashion trend that EVERYBODY will want to follow. >:3
Thanks, Rae. :)

-bows- Thank you! I'm just happy that you like the badges. And yes, I was hoping you wouldn't mind the hand drawn stars.. I bowed a few of them to follow the natural flow of the body, so a few aren't perfect stars but I feel it has a bit more of a natural effect that way. :)
It was definitely nothing like i've ever tried before. I just wanted to make sure it looked true enough to the character, and i'm glad that I pulled it off. :)
And yes, much hand cramping was involved. Luckily I was in a local coffee shop while colouring this, and so I had moments where in pure frustration I could get up, walk around, talk to the baristas, and bang my head on a few tables before I sat back down and started again. :P

I like pink on flowers, and in natural scenarios like that. Pink can be an excellent accent if used properly. I used to HATE pink when I was younger, but now i've learned to appreciate all colours even if they aren't my favourites. After all, pink is only red and white diluted, and I love both of those colours. But that begs the question:
If pink is red mixed with white, then why aren't candy canes pink? |3
