For some reason, 2023 me decided to make Chapters 6 and 7 a Part 1/Part 2 sort of situation. Don't ask why, I thought 6 & 7 went well together as numbers (BEFORE IT BECAME UNFUNNY BRAINROT).
It was time for Phase One of Operation Deception. First of all, I need to somehow get to Lunar, the male Alpha of the Darkscars, or Luna, his “wife”. This will not be easy.
Fighting my way through will not work. I will be outnumbered 40 to 1.
Sneaking will also not work. One of the Betas will definitely catch me.
There is a third option, and it may or may not work. If an Omicron or Delta were to attack me, I could talk them out of it. After all, they don’t want to fight. They were forced to join.
This would kill two birds with one fang. Because, if I convince them to join us Lightbringers, the Darkscars will have less of an advantage, and I could still carry out Operation Deception.
Any who aren’t convinced… well… I’ll just have to avoid them.
Alright, time to begin Operation Deception Phase One!
I came to the Darkscar’s territory and immediately got ambushed. Two wolves jumped right out of the bushes and I dodged.
I talked while dodging. “Why are we even doing this? What even is the purpose of this mindless fighting?” I said. The attacking wolves sat down and halted. “…We don’t know.” They responded. “I promise that if you join, we can end this war. You’re ready to go home, aren’t you?” I said. “Thank you. For your kindness. I’m Bush, and he’s Berry.” One of them said.
Now I have new allies!
“Alright, Bush and Berry, here’s the plan…” And I recited Operation Deception to them. “Well, this will go even better for you, because they have a bigger chance of believing you with us on your side!”
Perfect! I consider Phase One done! Now for Phase Two…
It was pretty easy to get through the rest of the defenses. Me, Berry, and Bush were able to convince the other Omicrons and Deltas to not fight us.
Before long, I had made it to Lunar. He was sitting on a throne he made himself (he’s good at making things.) “What are you doing here, intruder?” He said in a calm tone. “I have come to inform you of some important news. There is a traitor among you.” I said.
“Is there really? If you want me to believe you, you must prove it… through combat!” He responded. So be it. Fog then appeared out of nowhere, covering his right eye. “Why are we even doing this? You have nothing against me!” I said to Fog. “Oh I believe I do!” Fog said, taking his paw off his eye, revealing he had a scar from our previous battle.
He then started running around me so fast it looked like there were eight of him, all ready to bite.
Thankfully, Berry and Bush scratched him a few times, and he stopped moving. Fog then cried out “BOG!!” This was not good. Bog is another Darkscar Beta, known for her strength. Bog then came and asked “Who do you want me to take out?” Before Fog could point at me, Lunar halted the battle. “Wait! Stop! I believe him!”
“You are allowed to leave. Now go! Before I tell Bog to go after you!” Lunar said.
Mission complete!
And so I left. But I overheard Lunar, Fog, & Bog talking about plans of using FIRE to defeat us…
This is not good at all. I need to go back to the Lightbringer den immediately!
The use of fire is heavily frowned on for obvious reasons. So if the Darkscars plan to use fire, that’s violation of the wolf code!
The wolf code is a set of rules that every pack must follow, even the Darkscars.
And the first rule states that absolutely no fire can be used, not even in the most desperate situation!
PLOT ARMOR. Omni has so much of it. Too much, in fact. You're going to see a lot of it.
I also feel like the book makes the wolves way too similar to humans, I mean they have human items like cups of water and thrones that they made! Really silly if you ask me.
Also, HOW IS THE MAIN VILLAIN SO GULLIBE? He's literally the aggressor in the war, and he's believing someone from the enemy pack. Don't worry, he'll be way smarter in the rewrite. He'll be an actually credible threat. In fact, I've already written part of him in the story, and oh dear... he scares even me.
And yeah, that final part has a clear parallel to Warriors, although I've never actually read the book before.
