This is from the bodyswap arc in my RP with Nuc! While Silver was in Sonic's body, he didn't really think much about needing to trim. Winter has already settled in, so now that everyone's back in the right bodies, Sonic's got some scruffiness to deal with.

Sonic set a now very giggly Ben back on the porch and straightened up when Martha nudged him. He looked down at his chest and raised a hand to scratch at his chin and cheek, pulling a bit of an annoyed face at the remark. "Eh, I still think it makes me look too old. I'm gonna have to-"
"I like it."
Sonic stared over at Shadow when he heard him speak up and blinked a few times. "What?"
"I think it looks good..." Shadow looked over at Sonic's chest, then at his face. He realized he was staring and glanced away, muzzle reddening slightly.
"Huh..." Well now Sonic was having second thoughts about shaving it all down the instant they would get back to Shadow's apartment. He didn't particularly like having his fur be this scruffy. But when Shadow had first gone through his recent physical changes, he didn't like those at all. It was only after Sonic and Mari said they liked the new tail and other features that Shadow decided to leave things as they were. So if Shadow liked the fluff, maybe he should keep it.
"Guess I can stay a little fuzzy for the winter since you guys like it so much. But I'm trimming it by the end of January, alright?"
Shadow nodded, but kept his attention pointed away. "That is fine."
