With the design for Alolan Beartic done up, I'm sure those of you outside of Discord have been curious--who owns these strange variants?

Meet Luka! The twin brother of Rika from Paldea, this handsome fellow set out on his own journey after their plan to take over the Montenevera Gym was squashed. Accompanied by their then Bisharp butler, Obsidian, Luka started in Galar with a wild Grookey, and worked his way across many regions, where he made many rare discoveries.

His 'starter' evolved into a Tundra Rillaboom.
His shiny Hypno came across a mysterious dream journal that caused it to evolve into a Somni.
A Quilladin he captured was sent through time, evolving into a Ranseian Chesnaught.
He discovered the Alolan Cubchoo and Beartic in Mt. Lanakila, capturing a Beartic for his team.
His best partner, Obsidian, evolved into a never before seen branch evolution called Rookanon.
And finally, he was granted access to forbidden knowledge to evolve a Riolu into an Orrean Lucario...

While this means Luka has to 'take care' of his Lucario a lot, it's all for Obsidian. Even as a Bisharp, he knew the butler pokemon had a thing for him, and he decided to make sure he could be the best for his longtime friend.

Luka is a friendly sort but is always careful about battling, as Obsidian is not a battler of his own accord. Should the other four Pokemon fall, his 'ace' Lucario may bring a bit of something different to the battlefield...


I'm glad I can finally reveal the trainer behind the fakemon! Luka was made of course using Rika's art, with tweaks. He goes barefoot, as all Orrean Lucario owners have to, and he has obscenely long bangs rather than a long ponytail. It was part of his planned dynamic for if he and Rika could have been the new double battle leaders.
