Since I'm currently enjoying painting snow, even though I absolutely hate snow and winter at all, a scene came to mind: A cheetah couple were kneeling in a park on a snow-covered meadow, building a little snow cheetah. And as they devotedly shaped and crafted the figurine, creating the most beautiful snow cubbie they could envision, the male cheetah put a small heart pendent on the cat's chest. No words here, just a gesture; perhaps it was time to stop giving both of their heartfelt affection to a snow cub, but instead help a real cheetah cub into life and shower it with all the love they can give. And the female was meant to understand her husband's small gesture, this man who might not express every feeling verbally, but always finds ways to convey his feelings.
That was the idea. But how do you translate that idea into a sketch? Initially, I wanted to use a heart made of snow or ice, but somehow it wasn't working. Furthermore, I wasn't quite sure what to do with the rest of the female's and male's hands. At one point, their hands and arms were in somewhat sensible positions, but later on both of there arms lying in a totally cheezy way on the woman's belly, while the heart, amidst the coloring, became a necklace with a red pendant. Who knows if the necklace wasn't originally intended as an engagement gift and has been repurposed for a better cause. Perhaps that's why the background is so sentimental as well.
As you can see, I wasn't sure what it was supposed to be – which, by the way, isn't helpful at all :P. At the same time, I was struggling with myself and my ability to capture the complex scene in all its emotional depth. Who knows, maybe it's even impossible to encapsulate such a complex idea in a single subject.
However, here's the result of this mental rambling.
